4. Embracing The Future
It's difficult to say that the fact Black Ops 2 taking on a futuristic, sci-fi theme will make it better than Halo 4, which has been surrounded by that from the very beginning. However this does give Black Ops 2 an advantage in the sense that it is earth based; a familiar and more approachable setting to hop in to, but also it is not constricted by a previously built design or setting. It can jump in to this new, futuristic world and give the world a complete makeover it wants, it's not that far in to the future so don't expect flying cars and kids with jetpacks, but the new look and design will be a wonderful adjustment to the usually historical or modern settings used in Call of Duty games. Stepping away from historical settings and into an alternate setting where the world is affected gives Treyarch more creative licence and freedom to make Call of Duty push boundaries like it once did.
