Bloodborne: 10 Legitimate Complaints Fans Can't Ignore

8. Certain Weapons Drastically Need Balancing

You’ll find a lot less weapons in Bloodborne than you would be Dark Souls or Demon Souls, but what they lack in quantity, they make up for in design. The trick weapons are so much fun to use, combo-ing from one state to another. Every weapon controls like butter and feels gratifying to kill with.

The biggest problem with the weapons, however, is that some are clearly much better at everything than others. The weapons balance is way off. At the beginning of the game you get a choice of three weapons, one of which you can take from the Messengers for free. The Hunter’s Axe is undoubtedly the Squirtle of the Bloodborne world; does everything consistently well throughout the game.

You’ll find new and interesting weapons as you go along, but no matter how hard you try to give those weapons a chance, you’ll never escape the feeling that the Hunter’s Axe could be doing the job a lot better. Not just the axe though, there’s also a weapon known as Ludwig's Holy Blade, which you can obtain later on in the game and, again, can do pretty much everything well. Go online, and nearly every single person is using it.

The weapons could do with some buffing, or perhaps more appropriately, the Hunters Axe and Ludwigs Holy Blade could do with being nerfed.
