Bloodborne REMASTER: 7 Things It Must Improve
2. Chalice Dungeons
The Chalice Dungeons are a point of contention for some players. Some love them, some hate them. But generally we're all agreed that they're an attempt to add replayability.
The main Chalice Dungeons actually stay the same on each play through and don't scale in level alongside the player. They add some replay value and interesting loot as well as some minor bits of lore and beautifully designed interiors.
Bosses within these Dungeons, however, are mostly just bosses, mini-bosses or relatively hard enemies you come across in the main campaign. This definitely breaks the immersion and takes a lot of fun out of these fights.
Even Rom the Vacuous Spider, who is still trapped under the lake in Byrgenwerth in the campaign when you get the first chalice, sneaks away from Willem's watchful eye to appear as a boss in the Lower Pthumeru Chalice Dungeon.
Reusing the likes of Rom is especially sad as she plays a major role in the actual story, but appears amongst the likes of the Undead Giant and other insignificant enemies. There are some unique Dungeon bosses like the Keeper of The Old Lords, but having more wouldn't hurt.
