Brian Terwilliger Interview: Returning To G4, WWE Partnership, Xavier Woods, More

Woods has mentioned wanting to create an avenue for WWE Superstars once their in-ring careers are over and he feels this is it for him. Do you see the importance and significance of that as well?

Terwilliger: It's a model and it's a strategy and approach that when done correctly, it not only makes the individual happier, but it raises their own star value and also gives back to the business. The Rock, John Cena, Dave Bautista have transcended outside of wrestling. Those specifically speaking to how they grew their stardom in Hollywood, but by doing so, it brought more eyeballs back to the WWE and, what's the saying? A rising tide raises all ships? That absolutely applies there. Now, look at what Xavier Woods is doing with gaming and not only bringing new eyeballs back to WWE but he's also making the product more contemporary and younger.

What he's doing and how he's going about it is genius. In terms of the path he's taking for future performers, five years ago, playing video games outside of a specialty like a wrestling game wouldn't have been a thing. But now, it's a way to allow the talent to showcase their interests and a way to showcase their interests in cosplay and gaming. It does an amazing job of showcasing those performers and showing they're more than just that.

They're dynamic individuals with interests that are very capable of reaching across many spheres of fandom and interests and it takes the right performer to influence all of them. I think that's exactly what you're seeing here with Xavier Woods. He's paving the way for what this industry looks like a decade from now. He's making a difference. It's awesome to see.
