There's another rumour which furthers the link between Infinity Ward's upcoming release and Sledgehammer's previous effort, as it's been reported that Raven Software, a co-developer and overall helper on the Call of Duty franchise, has been tasked with creating a variation on the War Mode from COD: WW2 for the new sequel.

War Mode was a particular highlight of WW2's multiplayer, a new, muti-tiered push and pull between two teams across maps much larger than the ones found in the average Call of Duty. With only a handful of levels and a couple variations on the same bunch of objectives though, it was a great starting point, but not much more.

Apparently, this area is going to be expanded upon massively in Infinity Ward's title. War Mode did wonders to shake up COD's regular multiplayer, and it could become its own beast if it's getting an entire studio's focus behind it in this year's game.
