Now, this is one of the vaguer rumours on this list, but it does seemingly support the idea that Modern Warfare 4 could be some kind of legacy release, acting as a love letter to the entire MW franchise.

According to Gaming INTEL, the upcoming release is going to feature iconic weapons from throughout the series. Specific guns weren't mentioned, but you can probably bet on the likes of the M4 Carbine, G36C, Spas-12, MP5 and, hopefully, dual Model 1886s (pre-patch versions, of course).

Alongside returning weapons, the website has also reported that killstreaks from Modern Warfare 2 and 3 will be included. On the surface that makes sense, and probably means that rewards like airstrikes, chopper gunners and maybe even the AC130 will return, but there's no clarificationof which game's killstreak structure will be used.

Modern Warfare 3 was the first release to do away with the conventional progression of rewards in favour of new "scorestreaks", which rewarded different styles of play rather than pure kills. The series has stuck with that since, and MW4 probably will as well.
