What would November be without the latest Call of Duty title arriving amid the usual gangs of blind cheerleaders and relentless haters?

The multiplayer has always been the main pull for most players, while the campaign has historically been more of a mixed bag, ranging from the brilliance of the original Modern Warfare to the mind-meltingly inane single-player offering from last year's Black Ops III.

Still, Infinity Ward have a lot to prove simply because almost everyone hated their last game, 2013's Ghosts, so much. Can Infinite Warfare, with its controversial sci-fi setting, reinvent the series in a meaningful way, or is it just more of the same formula?

Well, it certainly doesn't want for eye-opening moments running the full gamut of hilarity, horror, and genuine annoyance, that's for sure. It is probably one of the weirdest campaigns in the series so far, and while far from perfect, is a suitably demented diversion from the norm.

Here are 20 WTF moments from Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's campaign...

20. Literally Melting Your Enemies

The game's opening mission sees protagonist Reyes heading to a UNSA weapons lab situated on the moon of Europa, which has been overrun by enemy forces.

Once you reach the armoury, you and your team must locate a gigantic superweapon in order to sabotage it, at which point Tee hands you an F-SpAR Torch, a compact weapon containing the very same technology.

Not more than a few seconds later, the giant blast door opens and you're given a fantastic opportunity to use it, unleashing a charged beam of energy on dozens of enemies, exploding them into a bloody mist in a fraction of a second.

It's a glorious power fantasy and totally f***ed up all at once. If any gun were the game's version of the BFG, it would surely be this.
