Call Of Duty Modern Warfare: 10 Iconic Maps That NEED To Return
6. Afghan
Although Afghan could be compared to Azhir Cave in terms of the desert aesthetic, the former is certainly more dynamic in its gameplay.
Sorry, Azhir Cave, you tried your best.
The crashed plane is located dead centre to the map and the layout works in a sort of circle around it.
To the north, there is a small cave system that leads out onto an ascending area of the map. This leads up to the cliff to the east that offers a great vantage point to perform overwatch, although you can be approached from either rear flank or counter-sniped from the bunker directly opposite.
A poppy field is located to the south that leads to two separate bunker entrances where close-range combat is favoured.
Due to this circular design, there is always at least two entrances to any one area, leading to constant fighting.
With elevated positions, debris as cover and two alternative vantage points that you need to work to access, this map offers everything you want for a first-person shooter experience.
