Crash Bandicoot: Ranking Every N. Sane Trilogy Boss Battle
5. N. Tropy - Warped
N. Tropy just cracks the top five, even if he is criminally underappreciated in his own game. With the concept of time travel and warping front and centre of Warped, it makes sense for there to be a new character all about time introduced. What makes slightly less sense is that even though he's the thread that ties the whole game together, he's only a midstage boss, coming at the end of warp room three.
The boss battle makes full use of the arena, giving you a tight but long platform at first as you dodge N. Tropy's projectiles. This essentially turns part of the battle into 2-D, with inventive attack variations forcing you to use all of your skills.
Making your way across to N. Tropy keeps to the platform theme in a way a lot of Crash Bandicoot bosses abandon too, making you leap from path to path. You'll always have to keep your wits about you too, seeing as the platform shapes are randomly generated each time.
Definitely a character who deserves more love. N Sane's success has sparked sequel talk. While Cortex is nailed on to feature, N. Tropy has got to be right up there too.
