Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled - 10 Best Tracks
6. Oxide Station
Oxide Station is the stage for final boss battle in Adventure Mode, where you take on Nitrous Oxide himself. It’s certainly a fitting finale for Crash Team Racing, and that moment you first go out into space looks and feels fantastic. Judging the track purely on its own merit though, it’s good, but not the game’s very best.
Similar to a lasting bitter sensation around Hot Air Skyway dragging it down slightly, Oxide Station sits at the other end of the spectrum. After all those attempt needed to beat Pinstripe, Oxide feels like much more of a pushover.
There’s still satisfaction in beating him, just not as much as if he’d put up a bigger fight. In fairness though, if you want a challenge from Oxide, his ghost times will be happy to provide. From how fast they are, it’s clear he was having a bit of an off day in Adventure Mode.
Though shortcuts play a big part in the game overall, part of Oxide Station’s draw is that there’s none. If you want to win here, you simply have to be good enough. Given its huge length, it’s not just getting to the front that’s the challenge either, but staying there.
