Dark Souls Remastered Wishlist: 10 Features Fans Need To See
3. Fix Blighttown
Blighttown is touted as the worst level in the game, but it is hardly deserving of that criticism. It is a very well designed environment that makes excellent use of verticality, resulting in one of the most intricate and maze-like levels in the whole campaign. Indeed, the true enemy of Blighttown is the frame-rate.
Walking through Blighttown is incredibly choppy, especially on consoles, to the point where it can be borderline unplayable in places. It's all to do with the fact that the level is absolutely massive, and there is a myriad of enemies and assets that all need to be loaded. So many assets that the previous generation of consoles simply couldn't handle a fixed and steady frame-rate.
Hopefully, the game will run smoothly on with the updated hardware of the current generation of consoles, but FromSoftware definitely needs to pay special attention to Blighttown to make sure that people can actually enjoy the level instead of skipping it like usual.
