Days Gone: 9 Helpful Gameplay Secrets You Need To Know

5. Upgrade The Crossbow For Guaranteed One-Hit Kills

It's easy to forget about the crossbow in the early game. The first one you get isn't all that great, and while headshots are perfect for silently taking out humans and Freakers alike, arrows can't be restocked at lockers and finding the trees necessary to craft more without a specific perk that highlights them can see you running out of bolts fairly frequently.

You absolutely should invest time into the weapon though, as it becomes one of the most reliable and versatile in the entire game. Make sure you're upgrading it with skill points every chance you get, especially once you unlock the Drifter Crossbow. If you do, the weapon becomes a one-hit-kill machine on Freakers no matter where you tag them.

Not only does this make it incredibly effective at taking out enemies but, combined with the ability to find and craft ammo out in the wild, means you should always have something to fall back on so you don't have to haul it back to a camp to restock.
