6. Weapons Crafting
It's a novel idea conceptually, but one that hasn't been executed particularly well if the demo is anything to go by. While the ability to craft materials out of various sundries you pick up around the world does open the game up somewhat, it also has huge potential to make things far too easy. Though the demo resources likely don't entirely reflect the final product, it's easy to craft a ton of medipacks and weapons in the demo, whereas in previous games ammo was relatively scarce, meaning you had to conserve it and manage your inventory. Here that seems to have gone entirely out of the window; there's now universal ammo for all weapons, a by-product of the ability to create your own weapon. Furthermore, creating your own gun really dilutes the sense of challenge; it's now possible to build weapons like a dual plasma cutter, meaning you can absolutely destroy enemies before they can get anywhere near you, ruining the horror and tension, and also removing any strategy element, as you can just giddily blast away.
