13. Destiny Foreshadowed In Halo: ODST

While it's little surprise that Destiny has been in the works for years and years and years, few would have expected Bungie to include references to their new work in previous games. In 2009's Halo 3: ODST, there's an advertising placard which reads "Destiny Awaits", while showing off a picture of Earth with a white sphere next to it which appears to resemble The Traveler, the mysterious celestial body from Destiny. Dispelling any ridiculous possibility of a coincidence, once the discovery had been made in November of 2012, Halo level designer Vic Deleon commented on Twitter, "IT'S FINALLY BEEN FOUND!". The inclusion of this reference to the game only makes us wonder when, exactly, Destiny was first thought up, as the appearance in ODST is the first known reference outside of Bungie's tightly-knit circle.
