Destiny 2: Ranking All Exotic Weapons From Worst To Best
12. Borealis
For those Xbox players looking at this gun in confusion, it's a PlayStation 4 exclusive, so don't expect to be using it anytime soon.
As previously stated, there's not many exotic snipers out there that are actually useful. There's really only one reason that the Borealis isn't sitting farther back with D.A.R.C.I on this list, and the reason is its exotic perk.
Much like the Hard Light, Borealis can cycle through all available elemental damage types. Unlike Hard Light though, you do not need to actually go into the guns menu and manually select which type you want. You can simply hold down the reload button to cycle from one damage type to the next without ever having to open a single menu. Being able to use this in a Nightfall and easily switch between damage types makes it way better than other snipers in the game. Not to mention that when you pop a shield on an enemy, something you'd be doing constantly, ammo is transferred from reserves to your clip.
It's not exactly a game changing gun, and its functionality is limited to PvE when you know shields will be everywhere. But where it's meant to shine it does, and it wouldn't hurt to pick up. That is if you have a PlayStation 4 though.
