Destiny 3: 8 Reasons It Should Be Single Player
2. The Story Would Be Far Superior
As proven by the Destiny games themselves, multiplayer titles do not often lend themselves well to telling great stories, especially if, like Destiny, the tone is a rather serious one.
Sure, Destiny's lore may be brilliant, but that doesn't mean the main stories told in either game were all that fantastic. This is due to numerous factors, but mainly how the side characters were almost completely absent, the actual premise was little more than killing enemies to protect the City, and the villains had no personality whatsoever - meaning that the tale told was a rather boring one both times around.
Moving to single player would remove a lot of the restrictions of telling a story in an online centric game, with the developers not having to account for there being more than one player or having to diminish the narrative substance so players can get back to looting as quickly as possible.
