Destiny 3: 8 Reasons It Should Be Single Player

3. The Skill Tree Could Be Massively Expanded On

The skill trees seen in both Destiny 1 and 2 provided little choice, each subclass featuring some pretty linear progression that meant that every player had access to the exact same set of skills once they were a high enough level.

Such linear trees would not be a necessity in a singleplayer game, as balance between players would not be an issue, meaning that the trees could be expanded upon vastly.

Expanding on the skill tree would allow for players to create a Guardian that would be unique to them, similar to how in the Elder Scrolls one can be any variation on a mage, thief or warrior that they desire.

To truly make sure the experience would differ from player to player, it would also be necessary to lock characters to one subclass and not allow them to switch between abilities, just like how most RPGs (in which the protagonist is a custom character) do not allow for spent skillpoints to be reset.
