Devil May Cry 5: 8 Insanely Promising New Features

2. Multiplayer

Marking a series first for the demon-slaying escapades of Dante and Co., Devil May Cry 5 will feature a bonafide multiplayer mode for up to three players, but the revelation comes not from the horse's mouth, but a spotted listing on Sony's PlayStation Store.

In fact, besides acknowledging the leak, Capcom has remained tight-lipped on what the mode will entail, with series director Hideaki Itsuno telling Eurogamer that single-player remains the development team's primary focus and that fans will have to "wait and see" what it has planned for the multiplayer side of things.

With that said, gameplay footage revealed at this year's TGS may have already let the cat out of the bag. Besides confirming the return of Dante's comrades-in-arms Trish and Lady, both seasoned demon hunters can be seen accompanying him out in the field, standing idly by as if they're waiting for someone to pick up a controller and drop in for a session of co-op.

All speculation, of course, but if any form of multiplayer makes sense for a primarily story-driven hack and slash like Devil May Cry, it's co-op.
