Devil May Cry 5: 8 Insanely Promising New Features
1. Dante's Expanded Armoury
Dante's no stranger to wielding unorthodox weaponry, but even the deadly jam sessions pulled off with Nevan in Devil May Cry 3 can't compare to the tools Capcom's stocked his armoury with this time around.
Cavaliere, a motorbike with the uncanny ability to split, mid-transit, into two chainsaw-like halves, is the latest toy at Dante's disposal, one that can flit between both modes on the fly for maximum versatility. To what extent we'll be able to drive the Cavaliere isn't clear (Devil May Cry isn't about to go full-on open world on us), but even if it's just to burn rubber on the downtrodden mug of hellspawn, that's a-okay in our book. Again, it's all about style.
No doubt, Capcom's so far provided but a taste of the new armaments available to both Dante and Nero, but if they're all as gloriously silly as Caveliere, as is befitting of Dante's bombastic showmanship, then boy, are there some exciting reveals to come.
For the traditionalists, don't despair. Ebony & Ivory, Rebellion, Sparda and what appears to be yet another reimagining of Beowulf/Gilgamesh are all set to return alongside the new tools of the trade.
