Dungeons And Dragons 5e: How To Pick Your Class

Druids are often thought of as the Disney Princesses of D&D, frolicking with wildlife and getting them to do your menial chores, pending a solid roll on your Persuasion Check. However, there’s another way of thinking of them: as a force of frickin’ nature.

Druids themselves have potent, elemental-based spellcasting, and the unique ability to Wild Shape, turning themselves into an animal that provides seemingly endless utility. Need to scout ahead? Who’s going to suspect a fly? Got a hefty amount of treasure to haul back? Put it on the shoulders of an elephant. Performing recon on a battlefield? Make yourself a hawk and use your keen sight to survey the grounds.

Late in the game, druids can get beefy abilities like Shapechange that lets them absolutely break the game, becoming creatures like earth elementals and even dragons, making them one of the hardest classes to keep down.

Additionally, the Druid, like the Cleric right before it, can change out their spells daily, allowing for almost endless amounts of options at their disposal. If you want to try a class that can fill any roll, be it tank, healer, damage, support, or anything in between, Druids are a natural fit.
