8. Wait, Ganondorf's Your FRIEND?

There's something you'd never think possible: Ganondorf being an actual acquaintance. This is part of a popular theory that indicates a story in which Link, Ganondorf, and Zelda have a strong friendship before they obtain their Triforce pieces. After they receive their part of the Triforce, each undergoes a major shift in personality, with Ganondorf's mind traumatized the most.

In this theory, Ganondorf is an aspiring knight who begins to become obsessed with power. He comes into contact with the Triforce on a guard detail, giving him a vision of his village being destroyed. He then talks to the king, whom he deems unworthy to rule, and uses the Triforce to travel back and forth in time to obtain more and more power. Nothing too out of the ordinary there, and it would be interesting to see Ganondorf as more than just a bad guy.

Likeliness of being true: 1/10.

Although it'd be intriguing to see what Ganondorf was like before he became obsessed with power, Nintendo has stated LoZ's antagonist would be a completely new character. Unless they surprise us with a Ganondorf reveal like Nintendo did with Twilight Princess, it seems the 'Dorf will be left out of this game's festivities.
