9. Link's Origins Could Be Revealed

Even though he's been the protagonist in each Zelda game, Link is a somewhat unknown commodity in terms of his background and full history. We only know of his desire to save the princess and defeat evil, but not much else.

Skyward Sword offered something of a background for the evil that came before Ganondorf, as well as additional personality traits never before seen with Zelda and Link. It wouldn't be illogical to think that Nintendo would want to further expand who the Hero of Legend really is.

Who knows? Maybe he wasn't always a hero, per se.

Further details on Link as a character would only offer benefits to both the game itself, as well as fans alike. Yes, Link is the Chosen One, but if players are able to understand a little more about who the silent hero truly is, then he can become even more authentic and fleshed-out.

However, it depends on when the story chooses to take place, and Nintendo may not feel the need to flesh out the character since each game is very rarely a continuation of the 'same' Link.
