9. Tekken 7 Has...QTEs

Xbox One S Recore
Namco

In an apparent attempt to update the Tekken franchise to the modern gaming world, the gameplay trailer for Tekken 7 demonstrated that Bandai Namco have introduced Quick Time Events into the series...for some reason.

After Heihachi and Street Fighter's Akuma briefly chat, Akuma hurls a fireball at his opponent, prompting the player to press right on their D-pad to avoid the object.

The lack of explanation is a big part of what makes this so baffling: do we have to sit through these long pre-match monologues and hope we're holding the controller when we're quickly asked to tap a button? Or will it be different in the final game? Answers, please!

If there's anything the series doesn't need, though, it's probably QTEs.
