E3 2016: Battlefield 1 - 10 New Gameplay Details You Need To Know
8. Players Will Be Able To Pilot Airships And Trains
Usually when a big vehicle makes its way into a multiplayer lobby, no members present get to take control of it. Sure, they may man the odd gun here and there, but actually controlling an airship? That's something else altogether.
As you can see too, players will be able to hop on that armoured train that's seen riding along a nameless Arabian desert. That's pretty sweet, especially considering one of the few ways to take down the train seems to be through cavalry charge. Whether the mode involving the locomotive of destruction is a different game-type entirely (could enemy players have to stop it from reaching a predetermined destination?) is unclear, but there's no denying that players are going to be scrambling like mad to get to a cannon before anyone else does.
I'm curious to see just how powerful the airships will be in multiplayer, as they were never really effective as weapons of war outside of intimidating civilians across the English Channel. No doubt they'll be dropping bombs indiscriminately once Battlefield arrives.
