3. Mahershala Ali Is In Madden 18's Campaign

The conference kicked off with a look at Madden 18, specifically its Longshot story mode, which seems to follow in the footsteps of FIFA 18's The Journey, by putting the player in the footsteps of a young sportsman who has to deal with major trials and tribulations both on and off the pitch.

The real surprise of the short cinematic trailer, though, was the appearance of Mahershala Ali as the protagonist's father, briefly seen offering paternal advice and helping a younger version of his protagonist train.

It's unlikely Ali's going to be in the game much, and to be honest the cut-scene visuals look a little dated, but snagging a recent Oscar-winner in the cast of a freaking sports game is nothing short of a coup.
