Yes, the rumours were true: much-loved PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus is getting what appears to be a full ground-up remake. Developer Bluepoint Games not only remastered the game along with Ico for PS3 back in 2011, but also did a fantastic job recently remastering the Uncharted trilogy and Gravity Rush.

This isn't a mere texture enhancement, though: it's clear the game has been rebuilt, and of course, it looks absolutely gorgeous, coming a long way from the original 2005 game's atrocious framerate.

The glossy new Colossus will unleash sometime next year. Get hype, and get excited about the possibility of Ico getting the same treatment in the future (well, maybe).
