E3 2018: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From Bethesda's Conference
4. New Content For Prey & Wolfenstein
Bethesda deserve huge credit for proving that they're still going to support even their games which didn't sell as spectacularly as they clearly hoped.
For instance, new content for both Prey and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus was revealed, despite the fact that neither game lived up to commercial expectations.
A new Moon-based DLC for Prey was made immediately available alongside three new gameplay modes, and a new multiplayer mode called Typhon Hunter will be released later this summer with VR support.
As for Wolfenstein? A new spin-off title was announced, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which will be set in 1980s Paris and follows B.J. Blazkowicz's twin daughters. In a neat twist, the game supports co-op (though can also be played solo), and is due out sometime next year.
And finally, a Wolfenstein VR experience is also on the way, Wolfenstein Cyberpilot, which will place the player in the role of a resistance hacker, and is coming out next year.
Considering how easy it would've been for Bethesda to quickly brush these titles under the carpet and press on with their bigger franchises, it was an awesome, consumer-friendly move to keep supporting them and their loyal fans.
