E3 2018: Predicting Release Dates For The Biggest Games
3. The Last Of Us Part II
The Last of Us Part II was officially announced at PSX 2016, and this year's E3 saw the first gameplay unveiling which looks...incredible. The game certainly looks in a highly polished state already, but it'd still be awfully optimistic to expect it to launch far ahead of next year's E3.
Prediction: June 7, 2019. Naughty Dog's games have released all over the place during the last decade, so there's no easy pattern to follow here.
Composer Gustavo Santaolalla has previously indicated a 2019 release, and while some insist it'll end up being a late-2019 or even early 2020 title to give the PS4 an epic send-off, the state the game's in suggests we'll probably get it a little earlier than that.
The Last of Us performed extremely well in June, and a release next summer would also be far away enough from the PS5 that it could get the glossy remaster treatment a year-or-so later.
