E3 2019: 10 Rumoured Video Games You Need To Know About
3. Dragon Age 4
Dragon Age 4 announced at The Game Awards last year, but - in part due to Anthem - we’ve heard the square root of nothing since. There was no gameplay and nothing more than vague figures in the trailer, but combined with the voiceover and the tagline The Dread Wolf Rises it was more than enough to get people talking.
It revolves around Solas, your elvish ally from the first game, revealed to be a traitor at the game’s close. The morality is grey though, so it’s unfair to label him the game’s villain. Interestingly, Solas appears to be speaking to the Inquisitor, meaning your player character would carry over for the first time.
All eyes will be on BioWare too, and none sharper than EA’s. Andromeda was buggy and didn’t get anywhere close to the Mass Effect trilogy’s legacy, while Anthem is literally breaking consoles. With Andromeda’s gunplay and Anthem’s flying, both games have good points but they just feel desperately hollow.
Dragon Age Inquisition received fair criticism for various pacing issues, but still managed to grab Game Of The Year and deliver some of the best characters in gaming. They need to repeat this with Dragon Age 4 to survive.
