Microsoft have pretty much an open goal when it comes to E3 2019, but there is one thing that they need to clear up: just what the hell Halo: Infinite actually is. Announced last year, the next instalment in the Master Chief saga has been shrouded in mystery ever since, with fans being left to do the leg work figuring out what kind of experience they're in for.

Rumours have suggested everything from battle royale to a live-service Destiny-like experience, and Microsoft need to clear up what they're doing with this franchise. Though Halo is still immensely popular, it's in a bit of a weird place with the fifth game disappointed a lot of fans with its bait-and-switch single-player and divisive multiplayer.

Halo: Infinite could be the grand return for the in-decline franchise, but Microsoft need to be crystal clear on the messaging if they don't want another Crackdown 3 on their hands.
