You might think, "This isn't insane, it's been rumoured for months", and you'd be partially right.

Yes, a partnership with Nintendo and Xbox has been rumoured for the majority of 2019, further emboldened by Cuphead launching on Switch, but that doesn't mean this announcement wouldn't be the equivalent of a nuke dropping.

Imagine on Microsoft's stage at E3, after Phil Spencer announces a few huge games making their way to Game Pass, he drops the megaton announcement that you'll be able to play Xbox games on the go, "when Game Pass comes to Switch... today".

It would be one of the biggest announcements in the history of gaming, and have massive implications for decades to come.

Of course, we're not sure how it would work with the Switch's limited capacity in terms of storage and inner workings, perhaps it will be a streaming-only version of Game Pass.

No matter how they cobble it together, this would be the biggest announcement of E3 2019, sending a clear message that Microsoft is willing to do whatever it takes to make Xbox number one again.

Hundreds of new, AAA games available on the Switch for $10 a month? Build it and we will come.
