E3 2019: 12 Insane Announcements That Could Happen

7. Square Enix Reveals Guardians Of The Galaxy

As we touched upon in the first entry, Square Enix isn't exactly the most predictable or logical video game publisher in the world. The company has a long history of head-scratching decisions, so revealing yet another Marvel video game seems perfectly possible.

Square Enix announced back in 2017 that an Avengers video game was in development, with a short teaser showing the heroes' damaged wares. Nothing had been seen or mentioned about that game since, however the publisher did seemingly tease it with its E3 2019 Tweet having Infinity Stone colours.

Well a lesser known Guardians of the Galaxy game has been in development at Eidos Montreal since 2017. The developer behind the Deus Ex franchise has been quietly toiling away on a mysterious Guardians game, while Crystal Dynamics works on Avengers. While the logical thing would be for Square Enix to properly reveal and release Avengers first, then Guardians, it could easily have a massive blow-out next month by showing both games.

Will the game feature the same cast as the movies? Or be more in line with comics? If nothing else is certain, at least we know the Marvel video game universe is about to expand greatly in the next year or two. Excelsior!
