It's been speculated for a few years now that Microsoft would look to get in bed with FromSoftware to create an Xbox exclusive akin to PlayStation's Bloodborne. The company presented Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on its E3 stage last year, so it's fair to say they're still seeking said relationship with the Japanese powerhouse.

A recent rumour from seemingly out of nowhere has claimed that Game of Thrones book scribe, George R. R. Martin, was consulting on a video game out of Japan. Of course, that could be Studio Japan, Square Enix, Capcom, Konami, or any number of Japanese developers, but the one that got peoples' mouths watering was FromSoftware, the twisted minds behind Dark Souls and more.

That possibility lined-up with a Tweet earlier that day from journalist Liam Robertson, who said he knew of a "bonkers" FromSoftare rumour that would be noted later that day. So it could very well be that Martin is working with FromSoftware to craft a brand new IP.

With Microsoft's E3 show coming in less than two weeks, it's highly possible that we'll see the game there, and we're hedging bets that it will be an exclusive launch title for the next Xbox. Get hyped.
