E3 2019: 12 Insane Announcements That Could Happen
4. Death Stranding Releasing In 2020
Yes, we know, Sony isn't attending E3 2019. However the publisher is almost certainly going to produce another State of Play in the coming weeks, to coincide with the event, and a release date for Death Stranding might not be as crazy as it sounds.
This past week, Kojima Productions posted a mysterious teaser for Death Stranding. The 30 second clip showed a watery screen and a transparent handprint, with some scenery within, followed by the text "create the rope".
As you may expect from Kojima, it's incredible vague and leaves us with more questions than answers. Though a teaser does suggest something bigger may be en route, and the latest news is that a trailer may be coming before E3.
We haven't seen anything of Death Stranding since E3 last year, and the game has been in active development since 2017. That's not a massive amount of time for a game of this scale, and particularity for a Kojima game, however a release date for next year isn't out of the question.
Or perhaps we'll just get another weird teaser that, when decrypted, reveals a release date. With Kojima though, it's honestly anyone's guess.
