7. Borderlands 2 DLC

In what might turn out to be the weirdest entry on list, the most recent rumours suggest that DLC for Borderlands 2 - yes, the game that came out seven years ago - will be released later this month.

Now, dropping content for a game that old sounds ridiculous and a bad business move, but it actually makes a bit of sense. The rumours indicate that it's going to bridge the gap between the second game and the upcoming third, and considering that Gearbox just released remastered versions of Borderlands 1 and 2 (with the Handsome Jack Collection being this month's free PS Plus game), it would actually be a strangely good time to drop brand new content.

The Borderlands series has never done anything the conventional way, and a gap-bridging DLC would be a good way to get people hyped and re-invested in the series in time for the third game's release. Even better, the leaks suggest the expansion will be announced and released on the same day, during Microsoft's conference.
