E3 2021: 20 Huge Video Game Announcements You Need To Know

8. Eidos Montreal's Guardians Of The Galaxy Is A Single-Player Game, Releasing October 26

Eidos Montreal finally dropped the lid on their new game during Square Enix's livestream - a single-player, third-person, story-based Guardians of the Galaxy title.

Square Enix devoted more than 15 minutes of their show to the game alone, evidently showing the amount of confidence they have in it.

While mileage may vary on the character designs - which feel MCU-adjacent in the same way as last year's Marvel's Avengers - it does feel like Eidos Montreal has nailed the giddy tone of the oddball heroes.

Though for many the big appeal will be the game's single-player focus, more strangely players won't get to play different members of the team throughout the campaign - it appears that you're locked into playing as Star-Lord for the entire game, which is a little disappointing.

While it's tough to know for sure if the game can avoid the soulless pitfalls of the recent Avengers game, we won't have long to wait to find out, as the game releases mere months from now on October 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
