E3 2021: 20 Huge Video Game Announcements You Need To Know
9. Arkane Studios' New Game Is A Vampire-Themed Co-Op Shooter, Redfall
The much-hyped new game from Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey, Deathloop) was finally unveiled during Microsoft's showcase - a new IP by the name of Redfall.
Redfall is an open-world shooter which, Arkane emphasised, can be played either solo or up to four-player co-op, with the cinematic trailer revealing the primary enemy to be a vampiric horde.
There was no gameplay on show, sadly, but the CGI cinematic trailer certainly set an intriguing mood and tone.
Given Arkane's pedigree, it's an appealing concoction, with the cherry on top being that it will launch for PC and Xbox Series X/S next summer day-and-date on Xbox Game Pass.
Considering the commercial disappointment of several of Arkane's most acclaimed games, the Microsoft acquisition feels kinda perfect for them - they get tens of millions of eyeballs in front of their games day-one without having to worry about sales.
