They finally did it. In the E3-adjacent Summer Games Fest event, FromSoftware dropped the veil on their hugely anticipated upcoming collaboration with George R.R. Martin, the action-RPG Elden Ring.

The mesmerising three-minute gameplay reveal trailer looked every bit the game FromSoft fans were expecting - epic, expansive, and full of gigantic, imposing foes ready to make short work of you.

Among other things, the trailer lovingly showed off the player's ability to ride and fight on horseback, and also confirmed a January 21 release date for next year on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Better yet, players who purchase the game on last-gen platforms can upgrade for free. You love to see it.
