E3 2021: 20 Huge Video Game Announcements You Need To Know
1. Rocksmith+ Is A Music-Learning Subscription Service
There's no denying that the instrument-driven rhythm game has well and truly died a death - the days of Guitar Hero and Rock Band convincing you to spend large on plastic peripherals are well and truly over.
For many, Rocksmith was a far more appealing alternative, given that it allowed players to use their actual guitar and, therefore, taught them actual guitar and bass playing.
And now, almost a decade after the original game was first released, Ubisoft has confirmed Rocksmith+, a subscription-based sequel which hopes to offer an even more refined and accessible experience.
Key features include the ability to use your phone's microphone to input your playing into the game, and a far more diverse library set to include thousands of songs across every conceivable genre.
Rocksmith+ will release for PC this summer, with PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S releases to follow in the fall. iOS and Android devices will also be supported at a later date.
