E3 2021: 7 Biggest Announcements From Square Enix Presents
1. Stranger Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
No trailer should say the word "chaos" in it eight times (I counted). The word chaos has lost all meaning now. It's no surprise to find out that Tetsuya Nomura worked on this game as he did the exact same thing in Kingdom Hearts with the word "darkness".
Ignoring the overuse of the word chaos, what is Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin? Well, it's connected to the original Final Fantasy, although how it's connected isn't quite clear yet. It could be a spin-off, a remake, or a reimagining of the events from the game.
The heroes of this game are calling themselves the Warriors of Light, which is what the heroes of Final Fantasy are called. Whilst this might be the case, the designs differ so much from their NES counterparts that it's hard to know if they are even the same characters.
The trailer heavily features the antagonist of the original Final Fantasy, Garland, which is the strongest connection to the original Final Fantasy shown in this trailer.
Whatever it is, there's a demo available now - although apparently it's pretty buggy.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022.
