EA Sports UFC: 10 Fighter Ratings That Must Be Upgraded
6. Alistair Overeem
EA SportsOverall: 88
Striking: 92
Ground : 82
Submissions: 82
Given how tepid his UFC career has been since his utter brutalisation of Brock Lesnar at UFC 141 it might come as a surprise to see Alistair Overeem included on a list of fighters who need to be upgraded, but the fact of the matter is that compared to the ratings of other heavyweights the Dutch kickboxing specialist has been underrated. Even his relatively highly rated stand-up statistic of 92 is arguably too low. The 64 fighter is not only incredibly powerful with 15 KO/TKO victories to his name but he is also highly technical, able to mix it up with knees, elbows and kicks where lesser heavyweights just spam overhand rights. The statistic which is particularly shocking is Alistairs woeful submission rating of 82. In a game whose worst fighter is rated 85, a rating of 82 is particularly bad. However, Overeems submission skills are actually extremely sophisticated. Indeed he has recorded 19 wins by submission in his 51 fight pro-MMA record his most frequent method of victory. The tall Dutchmans standing guillotine is particularly dangerous. If Frank Mir and his 9 submission wins are enough to garner a 97 submission rating, surely Overeem deserves a little more than 82?!
