The Elder Scrolls: 10 Crazy Secrets (That You Totally Have To Check Out)

Game: Morrowind The minds behind The Elder Scrolls series are well-known for being keen on keeping their lore in check, and it's clear they've been influenced by some of the greatest literature throughout history. One book that seems to have impacted the creation of Morrowind is George Orwell's 1984, which is frequently alluded to throughout the game. The most obvious example of this is the Ministry of Truth floating above the Temple Canton, which is named directly after the government building from 1984. Additionally, a passage during character creation alludes to the thought police and thought crimes of the book: "There is a lot of heated discussion at the local tavern over a grouped of people called 'Telepaths'. They have been hired by certain City-State kings. Rumour has it these Telepaths read a person's mind and tell their lord whether a follower is telling the truth or not."
