Every 2018 PS4 Exclusive Ranked From Worst To Best (So Far)

1. God Of War

Though faced with a tidal wave of hype it had seemingly little chance of living up to, the God of War reboot-sequel giddily smashed expectations into oblivion and delivered arguably the most satisfying gaming experience of the year on any platform (so far, at least).

Stripping away the more problematic aspects of the previous games and reimagining Kratos as, well, an actual character, the new God of War is an eye-wateringly beautiful spectacle that boasts best-in-class gameplay, spectacular world-building and a surprisingly affecting father-son pairing at its core.

While it's understandable that some may express disappointment with the game's more tasteful tone compared to its predecessors - the lack of gore in particular - this is a rarest of attempts to broaden a AAA franchise that doesn't feel overly cynical or calculated.

Above all else, it leaves fans eagerly salivating the inevitable sequel. Gaming doesn't get much better than this, and if it's the best thing you play all year, that's nothing to complain about.
