Every Batman Video Game Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Batman: Arkham Origins

Batman Games Ranked
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Batman: Arkham Origins might be the most underrated Batman video game ever - more so than Ubisoft's Batman: Vengeance.

Developers Warner Bros. Montreal were facing an uphill battle with the game even before its release simply due to the fact they weren't Rocksteady and because players were desperate for answers following Arkham City's cliffhanger ending. They had the unenviable task of following up two of the greatest comic book video games ever, and a lot of players didn't really give them a chance.

On its own, Arkham Origins is a superb Batman video game. It boasts by far the strongest story in the entire series and an incredible soundtrack to boot, but one aspect of the prequel that is constantly overlooked is just how innovative of a game it is.

Origins made several improvements across the Arkham formula, providing new enemies to spice up freeflow combat for starters, but by far the two biggest were the new boss battles and the additional detective sequences.

Origins' bosses built upon the killer Mister Freeze encounter from Arkham City and easily outshone Arkham Knight's, while the crime scene investigation aspect also provided something that was sorely lacking in the previous two Arkham instalments - seeing Batman do actual detective work.
