Every Call Of Duty Campaign Ranked Worst To Best

6. WWII

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Soap
Activision

Though the prospect of returning to the Second World War after so long away trying new things seemed a bad move, WWII came out and ending up being nothing short of a masterstroke. With impeccable graphics and an inspired performance from Josh Duhamel, the recent shooter's focus on the emotional aspects of the war were sublimely well-handled.

Even the gameplay feels fresh and spotless here. It's easy to get your head around, but the increasingly tough missions and character-driven narrative make it one hell of a challenge for gamers of every level.

Admittedly, it's easy to pass WWII off as a rehash of CoD's earlier projects, but the game's genius lies in its ability to really up the stakes of the conflict with every passing mission.

It's a dark, quick exploration into war-time brotherhood and the way in which war effects people from every walks of life, and though it suffers from a somewhat lackluster epilogue, it's still one of the franchise's most impressive and intensely re-playable efforts.
