Every Call Of Duty Campaign Ranked Worst To Best
13. Advanced Warfare
There are two types of Call of Duty fans in the world: those who loved Advanced Warfare, and those who hate it. There is no in-between, and despite its low ranking it should be noted that I personally liked it, even with some of the key aspects that were missing from the campaign as a whole.
Developed by Sledgehammer Games rather than Infinity Ward or Treyarch, the game features a refreshingly exciting state of play, introducing fans to the powerful exo-suits and featuring some brilliant set pieces.
Yes, the action is terrific, and the voice acting is also top-shelf, but the story itself feels rather incomplete overall. Whilst the improved freedom of movement and sizzling action sequences are a plus, Advanced Warfare's plot is still somehow derivative of what came before, despite the increased focus on sci-fi themes.
The generic plot is repetitive and shallow, forcing you to lose interest in what's going on and coast through to the end without getting invested in the stakes of the story.
It looks good and brings the carnage, but Advanced Warfare won't leave you begging for more.
