There's a lot of fun to be had with the first Harry Potter game ever released. For many original fans of Potter and his stories, this game will always invoke some nostalgia and be one of the great games from their past. It deserves a lot of praise for being the first to bring Hogwarts and all of its magic to life, scaling everything perfectly and making for a world that every player could invest dozens of hours exploring through.

Every other Harry Potter game going forward borrowed at least a couple of features from this title, and side features such as the Quidditch are always fun distractions from the main story.

Also, even for a game of its time, this game's main story carries with it plenty of interesting challenges that help make it pretty playable today. Some of the specific dungeons in the game are smartly designed, and the overly-specific combat system has a unique way of really punishing players who get too big for their boots.

The cheesiness of its exposition, line delivery and general presentation only help add to its charm and always come together to make playing The Philosopher's Stone a good time.

Horror fan, gamer, all round subpar content creator. Strongly believes that Toad is the real hero of the Mario universe, and that we've probably had enough Batman origin stories.
