Last year was abysmal when it came to anime-to-game adaptations. No company was more responsible than Bandai Namco, especially as they mucked up the terrific concept behind Jump Force.

Well, the publisher is coming out swinging in 2020, and bringing the big guns when it comes to redemption. Kakarot takes 30 years of the most championed plotlines of the Dragon Ball Z series and adapts the entire thing into a singleplayer, open-world, RPG game.

That’s a great incentive for new gamers to jump into the convoluted continuity and start fresh, as well as long-time fans to relive their most favourite moments of the series.

Add to that, the always impressive head-spinning action set-pieces and this looks like an incredible package...and a great way to start the year.
