Every Major Video Game Franchise Returning In 2019
3. The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake
Release Date: TBA 2019
With an art style that makes the game look like a miniature diorama, the Link's Awakening remake might be the cutest thing Nintendo have ever thought of - and that's really saying something.
If you're yet to try this 1993 masterwork (and let's face it, being 26 years old and only on the Game Boy Colour, you probably haven't), it's quietly remained one of the best Zeldas of them all. Incredible dungeon design, awesome item-based progression that steadily rolls out an entire repertoire of abilities - the only thing that needs touching up is presentation, and graphically this looks appealing as hell.
Personally I'll be interested to see if Nintendo implement any sort of hint system, or something that can point you in the right direction. The early 90s weren't the kindest to gamers in terms of obtuse design that hides the item you need behind random dialogue or hidden characters, and Link's Awakening can be the worst for this if you don't know where you're going.
