2. Gears Of War 5/Gears Tactics/Gears POP!

Microsoft are really going all out for Gears of War in 2019.

First up we have Gears 5, the next story-focused incarnation where Gears 4's Kat is now the main character as we explore her connection to the Locust. Being Gears 4 left with the revelation that Kat's grandmother somehow had a pendant with the Locust/Locust Queen's symbol on, it feels like developers The Coalition could finally be addressing long-standing questions about the Locust's connection to humanity, that have existed since Marcus' father appeared to be dating Locust's Queen Myrrah.

Next up is Gears Tactics, an XCOM-style turn-based strategy that plays exactly how you'd expect, albeit with kebab-legged protagonists taking the place of the identikit soldiers we usually burn through in other titles of this ilk.

Lastly... there's Gears POP! Shown alongside these other two games, we know nothing other than Microsoft have partnered with POP Vinyl for something, but my guess?

It'll be a Battle Royale. Because video games.
